Additionally mitosis creates genetically identical offspring, this means that all of the cells created through mitosis will be resistant to the same bacteria. Mitosis is one of the most important cell functions; it helps the cell grow, it replaces damaged cells, and it has four very important steps that prepare the cell for cytokinesis. ¬†Cell growth is a crucial to the overall growth of an organism. Without mitosis and without the cell cycle organisms would not be able to grow. If an organism was created and it was unable to perform mitosis the organism would have restricted growth if it grew at all. As organisms, such as humans, develop during their youth their cells perform mitosis more frequently than they will divide as the child grows. Cells go through this process in plants and animals every day, all eukaryotic organisms need this process to survive and grow.Apostis is the predetermined death of a cell or a tissue. Apostis, while not directly related to mitosis, is a reason for mitosis to exist. As old cells die new ones need to be put into their place or makeup for the loss of that area. If mitosis occurs too rapidly and uncontrollably then the cell might become cancerous despite the many checkpoints that limit this behavior. The repairment and replacement of cells that occurs with mitosis is especially useful when an organism has damaged tissues like a scraped knee or a cut, mitosis can replace the damaged skin. Mitosis has four steps that prepare the cell for cytokinesis where it finally divides. Prophase is the beginning, the spindle fibers are growing as the nuclear envelope is breaking. Metaphase is the alignment of chromosomes, by the spindle fibers, in the middle of the cell. The chromosomes finally become chromatids during anaphase while they are broken apart. The last step, telophase, is where the cells are finally ready for the last step of cell division. Mitosis is one of the most important cell functions; it helps the cell grow, it replaces damaged cells, and it has four very important steps that prepare the cell for cytokinesis. Mitosis and cytokinesis are very important processes that the cells in all Eukaryotic organisms must go through every day. We need mitosis and all of the processes in the cell cycle to grow, repair, and survive. Mitosis is important to the cell because mitosis allows the cell to create genetically identical offspring and create tissues. Mitosis is a basic cell process but it is also one of the most important for cell organisms.
